Please help the Prothonotary Warbler! (sure, not movie stars like eagles or condors, but we need these little yellow swamp fuzzballs too)
There’s no mistaking a Prothonotary Warbler.
Migrating from South America to the Great Lakes, this brilliant yellow looker depends on an unbroken habitat chain. During breeding season, they can be found in deep tree cavities in swampy, low-lying land.
Sadly, like so many birds once considered common, the warblers’ numbers are
falling—by more than 40 percent in the past few decades. . . .
