‘Back from the Future’ Staring Ilana Mercer: 'Into the Cannibal's Pot: Lessons for America from Post-Apartheid South Africa' (On the other hand, some disappointing neocon views . . .)

- - -

Into the Cannibal's Pot: Lessons for America from post-Apartheid South Africa is a polemical work anchored in history, reality, fact, and the political philosophy of classical liberalism. It is a manifesto against mass society, arguing against raw, ripe, democracy, here (in the US), there (in South Africa), and everywhere. Into the Cannibal's Pot follows Russell Kirk's contention that true freedom can be found only within the framework of a social order. It is a reminder that, however imperfect, civilized societies are fragile. They can, and will, crumble in culturally inhospitable climes. The tyranny of political correctness, so unique to the West plays a role in their near-collapse. Advanced societies don't just die; they either wither from within, or, like South Africa, are finished off by other western societies. Ilana Mercer delivers a compelling book; it is required reading for thinking people who care about the destiny of western civilization. --Amazon

Imagine if we were lucky enough to have someone magically travel back through time from some unimaginably devastated future to calmly, bravely and articulately warn us that we must change our fatal ways in line with reality while we still can in order to save ourselves, our civilization and our own great-grandkids. Well, we are just that lucky to have such a magical messenger in our midst, in the person of the brilliant and talented Ilana Mercer, by way of her fascinatingly horrific, well documented and superb “Into the Cannibal's Pot: Lessons for America from Post-Apartheid South Africa ” Still, she gives us hope, because knowledge is power, if we will only find the courage to use it, an Ilana-Mercer caliber of courage.

Update:

Much of my admiration still stands, but several months after I wrote the above, I became aware of Mercer's various neocon statements. Of course, that's were the money is--definitely not in race realism. The neocons somehow make themselves believe that places like South Africa or Detroit are completely or almost completely explained by failed liberal programs, so they are as much deniers of inherent racial differences as 'liberals.'

Do we really believe that dysfunctional violent corrupt pestholes like Zimbabwe, Nigeria or Haiti are simply the result of failed liberal programs and that deregulation and electing a modern-day Ronald Reagan would eventually mean nice clean green quiet industrious low-crime societies?

Only heard her quoted, but on a broadcast of the 'Political Cesspool' Mercer, about race realism and saving Whites from demographic extinction, said something close to 'race is not an effective basis for the organization of society.' Well, what I would say to Mercer is not to worry, because race, with thousands of years of natural selection behind it, always will be the basis for the organization of societies, whether perpetually well-meaning and naive White people want to deny it or not. --5/8/2014

GOP Stuck on Stupid Harry Stein & "Racism"

"This obviously presents enormous challenges for Obama’s Republican challengers. Yet it also offers opportunities, if they’re bold enough to seize them. Why? Because vast numbers of Americans have come to recognize the 'racism' charge as precisely what it is: not an expression of genuine moral outrage but a means of shutting down honest debate on vital topics—from crime, education, and the state of the family to welfare and entitlement programs."

All well said, but I would be very, very, very surprised if the Republicans were to wake up on this issue. Most Republican politicians have shown over and over again that they would merrily march across Lassie and her nursing pups or Alvin and the Chipmunks while wearing football cleats rather than risk being called "racist."

As far as the Tea Party people, no doubt there are some sane ones, but I always recall that great Beck revolutionary mass gathering in DC to honor--wait for it--Martin Luther King, Jr.

As some scholars have theorized, people of European heritage have contracted something called "competitive altruism." To achieve all of the social rewards that it promises, and to avoid the terrible sanctions for not going along with the program, we are willing, as a people, to dig our own graves upholding it.

Politically, if anything can save us, it will probably be some sane faction of the GOP joining some new party, such as the American Third Position, especially as whites head ever more rapidly toward becoming a minority, and then to an ever smaller minority. When people of European heritage can no longer continue to robotically repeat the mantra of the PC Pod people while at the same time living in ‘lily-white neighborhoods,’ because it will have become too expensive, they will move in droves to a self-interested party.

All of the noble misty-eyed things now being said by whites in favor of affirmative action for non-whites were once said in South Africa by white liberals there. Flash forward to the present, these same pious ‘compassionate’ people are getting dispossessed off of their farms and killed off by a combination of government action, smirking government inaction and random violent crime.

Yet the GOP, or as so many for decades have termed it, the Stupid Party, remains forever serenely narcoleptic. In short, if someone came to cart off your sobbing grandma to drop her in a big boiling pot of stew, your local GOP congressperson would spring to your defense by putting out a press release calling for lower taxes and less government regulation. To these stupid cowards economics has become the ultimate hidey-hole.

Never mind that Third World USA will be characterized by the typical Third World economic black hole, out
of which, it is often said, 'even light cannot escape.'

Stephen J. Gould, IQ & Being White

Stephen J. Gould, IQ & Being White*

Edward O. Wilson, the ant expert, once reportedly remarked that when Stephen J. Gould is challenged, he disappears, like a squid, behind a cloud of ink, meaning of course, writer's ink.

IQ is important because it is at the core of the cultural Marxist big lie, that there are no significant inherent differences among races, except perhaps those that reflect unfavorably upon Whites. IQ is also connected to other traits, like the ability to delay gratification, for example, saving your hard-earned money year after year in your savings account, rather than withdrawing money immediately at gunpoint from a cashier at 7-Eleven.

But several of the critical comments some have made about not obsessing over IQ are valid. I wouldn't care if I couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a black astrophysicist or a Mexican neurosurgeon, I would still greatly prefer my own people, as they would theirs. Of course it is absurd to think of this as "hate".

Other races have higher IQ's, but I believe the one most significant trait of our people, for better or worse, is dynamism: other peoples of the world would never have seriously thought of going to the moon, while Whites would never have seriously thought of  at least not attempting to go to the moon.

This is good reason to believe that we will someday, at long last, wake up, stand up and brush the lying Lilliputians, like Stephen J. Gould and Jared Diamond, off our shoulders.

Boycott Carlos Santana! Enemy of U.S. Workers.

Borrowed with thanks from NumbersUSA:

Hate Speech against new Georgia law tarnishes Civil Rights ceremony at Braves game

By Roy Beck, Monday, May 16, 2011, 10:20 AM EDT

Rock guitarist Carlos Santana may have reached a new low in hate speech against American workers when he took to a microphone on the field before the Atlanta Braves-Philadelphia Phillies game yesterday.

In response to being given a civil rights award, Santana indicated that unemployed Black, Hispanic and White Americans who want jobs held by illegal aliens are as racist as those who turned the hoses and dogs on Martin Luther King and civil rights protesters in the 1960s.

His voice echoing through the stadium sound system, Mexican-born Santana told the pre-game baseball crowd in Atlanta that they should be ashamed of themselves for allowing their state officials to enact a law that requires businesses to use E-Verify to ensure that jobs go to legal workers.

I represent the human race. The people of Arizona, the people of Atlanta, Georgia, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Santana met with media after the game started and expanded upon his hatred of unemployed Americans. He said Georgia's new E-Verify law is based on racism and economic anxiety.

This is about fear, that people are going to steal my job. No we ain’t. You don’t clean toilets and clean sheets, stop shucking and jiving.

Wow! First, I'm impressed that he uses the "we" to identify himself with the illegal foreign workers. And he uses the "you" to address the Black, Hispanic and White Americans who are unemployed and are complaining about an estimated 425,000 illegal foreign workers and dependents in Georgia competing in the labor market.

But Santana, like most pro-illegal-immigration activists, doesn't have the slightest idea about the reality of American workers.

He doesn't know that the majority of hotel housekeeping employees are Americans. He doesn't know that the majority of custodial workers are Americans.

Santana is like most bigots who speak, not from knowledge or facts, but from the emotional hatred stuck in their guts.

Let's take a look at the Americans Santana is calling racist for wanting laws to keep employers from keeping Americans unemployed by hiring illegal foreign workers.

Of young American adults aged 18-29 with only a high school degree:

40% of all these young adults don't have a job.
43% of the Hispanic-American young adults don't have a job.
50% of Black Americans of this group don't have a job.

But Santana says these Americans don't deserve any sympathy because, according to him, they are just "shucking and jiving" when they complain that they should have jobs instead of the illegal foreign workers.

About Georgia's mandatory E-Verify law, Santana said:

It's an anti-American law. it's a cruel law, actually. If you all remember what it was like here with Martin Luther King and the dogs and the hoses. It's the same thing, only its high tech. So Let's change it.
The dogs and hoses were about keeping AMERICAN CITIZENS who were black from enjoying full rights, including full participation in the ECONOMY.

Georgia's new law is about protecting AMERICAN CITIZENS, who disproportionately are black, from being barred from economic participation by employers who prefer illegal foreign workers.

The people of Georgia who supported and pressed for the new mandatory E-Veriy law were operating in the best traditions of the Civil Rights movement and should have been given the civil rights award at the baseball ceremony.

Instead, the ceremony was dominated by Santana who shamed himself and tarnished the civil rights tradition with his hateful diatribe against the most vulnerable members of our national community.

Open Letter to Tina Brown on Newsweek Cancel

Open Letter to Tina Brown on a Newsweek Cancellation

Newsweek cannot, on the one hand, claim to be a general circulation news magazine, while, on the other, revel in being so over-the-top partisan. The final camelback straw for me involved Newsweek’s regular “Awful” to “Awesome” chart featuring former Congressman Tom Tancredo as “Awful” because he had announced his independent run for governor of Colorado. Obviously a hit piece. (At the time, the political establishment was somewhat shaken by his candidacy and enthusiastic reception around that state.)

Newsweek has every right to disagree with Tancredo’s desire to enforce American border laws, but you would think he were some sort of wild-eyed hater, when in fact he is simply in favor of law enforcement, not just for American citizens, but for foreigners who sneak across the U.S. border or overstay their visa permits. Far from being a fire-breathing rabble rouser, in speeches Tom Tancredo comes across as the boring but lovable, upright do-gooding civics teacher many of us had back in school, which in fact he once was.

However, it is not just Newsweek’s rabid partisanship that is so sad, but that it is comes out in such a shallow sophomoric and smearing manner.

Goodbye.

Tom Hanks Pacific War & Hollywood Mythmaking

- - -

Google Images
- - -

Many Americans love Tom Hanks, and I am one. However a ‘Time’ cover story last March once again reveals the problem with the political left, which is that no matter how much they learn about the world, by a combination of ignoring some facts and emphasizing others, or by simply holding contradictory beliefs at the same time, they always manage return to certain cherished core Utopian principles.

In the course of the article it is reported that in mid-life Hanks has become a major history buff and has devoted countless hours studying it, including, in this case, the Pacific Theater of World War II, in conjunction with his miniseries, ‘The Pacific.’

All of this is commendable, to be applauded to the skies. And yet after studying the war backwards, forwards and upside-down, Hanks,  said to be a “JFK liberal,” is quoted in ‘Time’ as concluding:

“Back in World War II, we viewed the Japanese as ‘yellow, slant-eyed dogs’ that believed in different gods. They were out to kill us because our way of living was different. We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they were different. Does that sound familiar, by any chance, to what’s going on today?”

While you can make a good case that the West could have intelligently altered and avoided the run up to World War II, and an even better case that the United States could have avoided the two semi-endless wars to which we are now Krazy Glued, it just might be that the sneak attack at Pearl Harbor had a tad more to do with the United States entry into World War II than (obviously white) Americans foaming at the mouth with hatred for ‘yellow, slant-eyed dogs.’

Those on the left, the self-styled liberals or progressives, must always return to the Great Leftist Hymnal--and the number-one tune is always about race. This is the core justification for the existence of modern liberalism. Liberals would not know what do without this central issue, so they must see ‘racism’ everywhere, which constantly reaffirms that they represent ‘our better angels.’ As they forever valiantly struggle, trying to teach the rest of us to stop all our hating--whether or not we are hating.

But, thank you, Tom Hanks, for all your well acted and extremely entertaining and often instructive movies. Keep them coming!
