TOO - Dr Kevin MacDonald: Opioids and the Crisis of the White Working Class - "The Sackler Family Is Fundamentally Responsible for the Opioid Crisis"

A sense of betrayal seems to lie just behind today’s political discourse—a feeling of being left behind, a suspicion that those at the top, in media, corporations, politics, academia, and finance, have motives and goals at odds with those of the broader population. Put simply, Americans of all backgrounds fear and loathe a hostile elite. Political memes like “the Deep State,” “the 1%,” “Drain the Swamp,” “the Davos Set,” and “Masters of the Universe” each capture this feeling of alienation, suspicion, and helplessness.
Historically speaking, class rivalry is hardly unusual. But a political situation in which a ruling elite is actively hostile towards the population it governs is quite rare, but not without precedent.
With conservatives, the immigration question brings these feelings of betrayal to the surface, perhaps in their most pronounced form. The popularity of the chant “Build The Wall!” reveals this. “The Wall” is tacitly understood, by those who resonate with it, as a means of re-gaining control over their communities and country. In turn, both liberals and those who could properly described as political and social elites view “The Wall” as far more than a barrier to illegal entry: it is an attack on their values, if not a direct attack on them.
More than any other issue, the immigration question represents a yawning gap between elite and popular opinion, between the Republican establishment and its White voting base. ...

AFP - Trudeau's progressive agenda at G7 - Open borders Trudeau has attacked Brit-French Canada in a pincer movement of third world underclass and Chinese overlords. Now he worries about gender equality --tma

Montreal (AFP) - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promises a "progressive agenda" for Canada's G7 presidency in 2018, but talks may once again hit a snag over climate change after the US withdrawal from the Paris agreement.
For Justin Trudeau, this presidency comes at a time when his government has been struggling with a difficult renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) with the United States and Mexico, which was demanded by US President Donald Trump amid rising American protectionism.
Gender equality, climate change and economic growth "that works for everyone" are among Ottawa's top priorities for the meeting of the world's largest advanced economies -- Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States. ...

The new security measures planned for the Brandenburg Gate party come amid concerns about sexual assaults.
A large number of assaults and robberies targeting women at Cologne's New Year's Eve celebrations two years ago horrified Germany.
Hundreds of women reported being attacked by gangs of men with migrant backgrounds.
The events in Cologne heightened tensions in the country over the large influx of refugees and migrants - 1.1m people arrived in Germany in 2015, some, but by no means all, fleeing violence in Syria and Iraq. ...

Converting US into refugee camps?

Posted by Ann Corcoran on December 29, 2017
….Jewish resettlement agency says they don’t have the funds to find them anything better.
I don’t want to leave readers with the impression that this is pick-on-HIAS week, but that major resettlement agency (one of nine***) just seems to be in the news a lot lately.
It is in the news more than most, partly because HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) is the refugee contractor leading the legal challenge to President Trump’s refugee slowdown.
HIAS wants more refugees admitted to the US and yet they can’t do anything better for them but to place them in dangerous housing?  Of course, they would love it if the feds sent more funding their way, but maybe some of their ‘humanitarian’ bigwigs could take pay cuts and help these poor people!  (See astronomical salaries here yesterday and below).
Here is the story at North Carolina Public Radio (one of many sites that this article appears) chronicling the horror of refugees living in dangerous housing (where they are raising kids!) and then they need mental health counseling to cope. ...

Breitbart: Delivery Drivers Reveal London ‘No-Go Zones’ Made ‘Too Dangerous to Work’ by Acid Attacks and Knife Crimes

Delivery drivers have branded large parts of London “no-go zones” in which acid attacks and rampant knife crime have made them too fearful to work.

The frequency of assaults using corrosive liquid in the city — officially the world capital of reported acid attacks — has left drivers choosing to take a big pay cut rather than braving dangerous areas of London at night.
“We used to work till 2am – now people are stopping before 10pm,” one moped driver revealed to The Sun.“After 8pm or 9pm, we’re not going to those dangerous places.”

Places named by delivery men as areas of the UK capital which are too dangerous to work include Hackney and Stoke Newington — boroughs which local MP Diane Abbott boastsare “ethnically diverse”, noting just 36 per cent of residents describe themselves as white British. ...

Campus Reform - "White Supremacy" lecturer Diablo Valley College Prof Albert Ponce urges lawbreaking to "smash White democracy" - He's right in that Western democracy grows out of the blood and soil of the West and will die without the West --tma

A Diablo Valley College professor recently told students they should violate "many" of our existing laws because they perpetuate "a white supremacist, patriarchal, heteronormative, capitalist system."

The professor also argued that about 50 percent of the students in the room should not stand for the Pledge of Allegiance because the American flag "is not really representative of everybody." ...

Love this. Condemns capitalism as "heternormative," you mean like every human population in history? Unless this is a clever over-the-top parody, Professor Ponce is a raving loon.

It is “an unprecedented crisis!”
--Mark Hetfield, CEO HIAS
I suspect all of the nine federal refugee resettlement contractors*** are doing this—end-of-year appeals for money for 2018.  I just happened to see HIAS’s appeal yesterday.
Because fewer refugees (paying clients) are expected to enter the US in the coming year, and because (if it’s true) the tax law changes are such that it’s less attractive to make charitable donations in 2018 and beyond, we are seeing the big push here.
This is what Mark Hetfield, CEO of HIAS, said in an urgent e-mail ...

Refugee Resettlement Watch: (Most) Minnesota media fails to mention attacker was a Somali man - MSM often uses 'botched' or 'bungled' on minority violence. Don't you hate it when you mistakenly stab someone 14 times? --tma

Posted by Ann Corcoran on December 27, 2017
I hadn’t noticed the story until Christmas day or so when Ann Coulter posted a series of tweets about the complete absence of any description of the man who attacked a woman walking home from work.  (Ann had the date of the attack wrong, but not the fact about the apparent media coverup.)
If you read Coulter’s ‘Adios America’ you know that this is a recurring theme in the book. The news media (not all of it, but most of it!) will turn itself into pretzels trying to hide the facts (and the nationality) about immigration status of migrants involved in crimes, often simply referring to him as “man.”  Or, LOL! if the attacker used a vehicle it becomes “truck killed…..”
MSM, usually quoting police statements, have long used 'botched' or 'bungled' for minority violence. Don't you hate it when you inadvertently stab someone 14 times? I would venture to say that if you are willing to murder or assault someone to commit a robbery or burglary, you have then committed a homicide/assault AND a robbery/burglary. The way it is now, for minorities, if you do both at once you get an 'intent' freebie. 'Your Honor, my client, a teen, a youth really, didn't intend to rape and murder that nice Mrs. Johnson and her family. Mohammad/Shandrel just broke in to take a toaster oven. And, for the record, one of those sweet little Sunbeam jobs."

WaTimes: Trump struggling to find staffers willing to ‘drain the swamp’ - Right, MAGA people are refusing White House appointments hourly--What BS! - Please drain the Swamp and build the Wall --tma

Draining the swampy Washington bureaucracy is hard, and President Trump also is still having trouble filling his administration with appointees who share his vision for reshaping government.
As of mid-December, Mr. Trump had nominated 496 people for various posts in his administration. That is 140 fewer than President Obama nominated by the same point in his first year and 232 fewer than George W. Bush by the same date in his presidency.
Although he is behind on overall nominations, Mr. Trump is ahead of his predecessors on filling positions in departments such as Defense and Justice, showing his prioritizing of national security and law enforcement.
Senate confirmations of Mr. Trump’s executive branch nominees also are running far behind the paces of his predecessors. The Senate had confirmed 261 of the president’s nominees by mid-December, compared with 418 under Mr. Obama and 483 for Mr. Bush.
Some analysts say the slower pace of nominations and confirmations undermines Mr. Trump’s campaign promise to “drain the swamp.”
“This is really odd for somebody who promised to bring change to Washington — to leave the government empty, on autopilot,” said Elaine Kamarck, director of the Center for Effective Public Management at the Brookings Institution. “You get the status quo. If you want to drain the swamp and change the vast federal government, you’ve got to get control of it in order to understand it.” ...

Before you settle down for a long winter’s nap with adult visions of sugar plums, consider a key fact about the 2018 midterm elections: We already know what they’re going to be about.
Republicans, thanks to their last-minute tax triumph, will run on a pro-growth agenda. If the middle-class tax cuts work as promised, if the economy cooperates by continuing to expand by 3 percent or more and produces jobs, jobs, jobs, the GOP will have a strong message to sell.
It will need one to protect its narrow margins in Congress, especially because the majority party usually loses seats in the first midterms.
Democrats, on the other hand, have no message, no leader and nothing to brag about. That leaves a vacuum, which is being filled with one idea: impeaching President Trump. ...

After Inauguration Day, January 20, in “It Will Come To Blood”–Reflections On The Left’s Anti-Trump Inauguration Editor Peter Brimelow wrote: “If the incoming Trump Administration is behind the federal prosecutor’s apparent intention to charge rioters with “felony rioting” i.e. go for exemplary sentencing, that all by itself justifies the 2016 election.” But in the first major trial of what are now called “J20” defendants, sabotage by Judge Lynn Leibovitz (PDF) has resulted in an acquittal on all charges, in effect reaffirming the Left’s right to riot. [6 Protesters Found Not Guilty in First Inauguration Riot Trial , NBC Washington, Thursday, December 21, 2017] In contrast, most of the Charlottesville Alt Right defendants, arrested after melees now confirmed to be a result of police malpractice, are still being held without bail—unlike their assailants. CAIRO (AP) — Hundreds of Muslim demonstrators attacked an unlicensed church south of Cairo wounding three people, an Egyptian Coptic Christian diocese said on Saturday, in the latest assault on members of the country’s Christian minority.

The incident took place after Friday prayers when dozens of demonstrators gathered outside the building and stormed it. The demonstrators chanted hostile slogans and called for the church’s demolition, the diocese in Atfih said. The demonstrators destroyed the church’s contents and assaulted Christians inside before security personnel arrived and dispersed them. ...

RRW - Trump 'refugee' reduction: Taxpayer-funded for-profit refugee 'charities' say we mustn't make ISIS mad or they will kill more of us

Posted by Ann Corcoran on December 23, 2017
The groveling refugee contractors are scraping the bottom of the barrel with this line of attack on the Trump Administration’s refugee resettlement slowdown and Newsweek eats it up!
I don’t doubt that Al-Qaeda and ISIS are angry, but it’s only because they have been laughing their heads off for years with both Bush and Obama inviting them to come and get established in America while the dumb taxpayers feed and house them!

    ISIS kills Christians
We have to be nice to them and invite Muslim refugees to America so they won’t kill us? They kill Christians because their ‘religion’ instructs them to!

But, in addition to the backwards and desperate ‘logic’ of this tired old argument getting to me, it is the fact that the major mouthpiece for the attack, quoted by Newsweek, works for the super RICH International Rescue Committee (IRC) leading the wailing and moaning here.
In 2015, the last year analyzed by Charity Navigator (I reported here), the IRC was the largest of the nine federal contractors.
Its budget was $688,929,920 with 66.5% of that coming from US taxpayers. That is approximately $455 million you pay them out of your pay checks!
Its CEO, David Miliband, a British national, received $591,846 in annual compensation that year. (But, LOL! see the salaries page below from a more recent Form 990. He got a huge pay raise!).
So now we have the IRC’s Hans Van de Weerd (is he even a US citizen?) using this cockamamie logic about making the Islamic terrorists mad at us and crying foul that their income from the US Treasury might take a hit and they will have to close offices.
    Hans van de weerd facebook
Leftist political agitator! From Dutch citizen(?) Hans Van de Weerd‘s facebook page. He wears two hats. In addition to his job at the IRC, he is Chairman of the DC lobbying arm of the refugee industry that recently joined CAIR in their protest of the Trump Admin. See his bio here:
I wasn’t planning to write again today about the pending closure of small resettlement sites, see posts here and here over the last couple of days, but it seems that the contractors have a propaganda campaign going on the issue and the mainstream media is doing their bidding!
Why does no reporter ever ask them about raising private money to take care of the refugees they placed in recent years—the ones having such a hard time in America that they want to go home to UN camps!
There is nothing preventing the contractors from caring for refugees with private dollars!

Why does no reporter ever ask if David Miliband and the other CEOs are taking pay cuts in order to shift money to their smaller offices so they can take better care of their refugee clients?  Indeed, why are their do-gooder proclivities the responsibility of all taxpayers?
Here is reporter Nicole Rodriguez at Newsweek falling for the twisted logic and the sob story (hat tip: badboylookout):
The Trump administration’s decision to scale back the number of refugee resettlement offices across the country puts American lives at risk by providing terrorist groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda with ammunition for their anti-U.S. propaganda and recruitment campaigns, refugee advocates warn.
