Wildflowers do much more than add beauty to the landscape. They help conserve water, reduce mowing costs, provide habitat for birds, butterflies and other wildlife, protect the soil and save money on fertilizer and pesticides. Also, as Lady Bird Johnson said, native plants "give us a sense of where we are in this great land of ours."

But North American native plants, defined as those that existed here without human introduction, are disappearing at an alarming rate due to human activities, such as urban development, agribusiness and the introduction of invasive species. The loss of native plant communities has reduced wildlife habitat and the genetic diversity necessary for balanced ecosystems. ...

     Historically California was been known as having a larger percentage of liberals AND conservatives--hence electing Nixon and Reagan--than other states, which political scientists termed "politically bifurcated." What happened? Did millions more liberals pour into the state? Of course not. California has been overrun by the Third World, thanks to its geographic location and the pro open-borders policies of several presidents and congresses. 

     A clear majority of third-worlders tend to vote heavily Left, wanting more government social programs, more amnesties and more in-migration. Doubt this? Just wait for the same demographic changes to reach the tipping point in your own state (or traditionally white nation), no matter how proudly 'red' your state may currently be. 

     I said this to one Southerner, who answered, "That won't happen here, because we are buying up all the ammunition," and so forth. Well, that's comforting, but who are you going to shoot, your state legislature the next time it sells you out? It is doubtful anyone is going to be stupid enough to walk door-to-door collecting guns from hunters and the like. Get this through your head: They don't need to.

     What will happen, what is happening, is just like what is now taking place in its later stages in South Africa: higher and higher taxes (dispossession), ever more aggressive 'affirmative action' (more dispossession) and more and more violent 'random' crime, particularly gruesome murderous raping home-invasions against whites (the ultimate dispossession).

     Yes, your guns will help you for a time against violent criminals, but not forever, as increasingly third-world American state and federal governments look the other way or end up imprisoning you for defending yourself. Nor will you be able to do a heck of a lot to protect your increasingly besieged future grandkids' grandkids.

     As far as Arnold is concerned, the young people watching his action films will probably only care if his movies are entertaining, rather than their trying to punish him for being a semi-clueless impromptu liberal Republican governor, or for his irresponsibly, caddishly and idiotically impregnating his housekeeper way back when.

Every year Edge.org gets some certifiably smart people to give answers to a Big Question. This year’s Big Question is “What should we be worried about?” I suppose if I was invited to comment, it would be about the decline of Whites in all societies that have been historically White, from Australia to Europe, and what that might mean in terms of future racial/ethnic conflict as multiculturalism continues to march forward unimpeded.

But none of these smart people are concerned about that. ...

The Chinese and the Israelis have quite obviously developed a strong collective ethnic identity; they have ethno-states that are directed at advancing the interests of a particular ethnic group. And both the Chinese and the Jews have a long history of practicing eugenics within their group (for China, see Miller; for Jews, see Glad or my 1994 book, A People That Shall Dwell Alone). How exactly are these mistakes? These policies are aimed at furthering the ethnic interests of their peoples, while in the West the idea that White people have ethnic/racial interests is derided as without merit — as yet another example lingering racism, etc.

Most evolutionary psychologists have had their heads in the sand when it comes to group conflict and selection between groups ... It’s always struck me as amazing that scientists who purport to take evolution seriously can be completely oblivious to natural selection in the contemporary world. They can easily spot natural selection in the natural world as one animal or sub-species competes with another within an ecological niche, with the result that some genes survive and prosper and some do not. But the decline of Whites in all societies that have been historically White, from Australia to Europe gets nothing but yawns. Not important. ...

Chicago man to be sentenced for terror convictions

CHICAGO (AP) — One Tahawwur Rana is a loving, kindhearted father hoodwinked into committing crimes out of loyalty to an old friend. The other Tahawwur Rana is hate-filled and cold, speaking approvingly of mass murder and laughing at the prospect of severed heads thrown onto a street.

Those competing portraits are expected to be on display Thursday before a judge sentences the Chicago businessman for backing a terrorist plot in Denmark and supporting the group behind the three-day deadly siege of Mumbai sometimes known as India's 9/11.

Rana, 52, was convicted in 2011 for providing support to a Pakistani group that carried out the 2008 Mumbai attack that killed 160 people, as well as for his backing of an unrealized plot to attack a Danish newspaper that printed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

Defense attorneys say they are seeking a no more than nine-year prison term at his sentencing hearing Thursday in U.S. District Court in Chicago. Prosecutors are asking for the maximum 30 years, which, at his age, could amount to a life term.

Although Rana was acquitted of terrorism charges, the question of whether he should be considered a terrorist for sentencing purposes likely will be a focus of the hearing. Federal guidelines require stiffer sentences for those deemed to have engaged in terrorism.

Prosecutors argued in pretrial filings this week that the Pakistani-born Canadian fits the definition of a terrorist. ...

A school district in Wisconsin said they will review a high school diversity class that exposed students to radical leftist thinkers and promoted a critical race theory that alleges white people are oppressors.

The “American Diversity” class was taught to students at Delavan-Darien High School in Wisconsin, Fox News has learned.

“They’re teaching white guilt,” one parent told Fox News. “They’re dividing the students. They’re saying to non-whites, ‘You have been oppressed and you’re still being oppressed.’”

The parent, who asked not to be identified, has an 18-year-old son who was enrolled in the class and became alarmed after she looked at some of the handouts provided to the students.

“I felt it was indoctrination,” she said. “This is a radical left agenda and ideology that is now embedded in our school.”

The parent said the students were taught “if you’re white, you’re oppressing. If you’re non white, you've been a victim.”

According to handouts obtained by Fox News, “white privilege” was defined as “a set of advantages that are believed to be enjoyed by white people beyond those commonly experienced by non-white people in the same social, political, and economic spaces (nation, community, workplace, income, etc.”

Students were also given a handout from University of Texas professor Robert Jensen arguing that people don’t have complete control over their fate.

“There is not space here to list all the ways in which white privilege plays out in our lives, but it is clear that I will carry this privilege with me until the day white supremacy is erased from society,” he wrote. ...

     Of course, as white farmers, many employing blacks, providing schools for their children and making their nation a rare African food exporter, found out in today's starving Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia, and as South African whites are now finding out, "white supremacy" can only be "erased" when whites themselves are erased. Of course the result for nonwhites is then teeming poverty, violence, corruption and the collapse of their society back into the warring tribal disease-infested swamp, but they don't think that far ahead and never will.
