Trapuzzano slaying suspect laughs going to court

The 16-year-old suspect in the slaying of an expectant father laughed and joked with other inmates as he was led to his initial hearing Thursday.

Simeon Adams was shackled to another inmate as he walked through the basement of the City-County Building on his way to Marion Superior Court. He pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges related to the April 1 death of Nathan Trapuzzano, 24. The early-morning fatal shooting occurred in the 3500 block of West 16th Street while the Ivy Tech Community College computer programmer was out for a walk.

Trapuzzano's widow, Jennifer, is expecting their first child next month. . . .
