Christian Science Monitor / Yahoo News: What is 'conservative realism,' and can it push Rand Paul to White House? (Must be doing something nutty to get this puff piece from the liberal Democrat Monitor, but it shows how Orwellian today's political landscape has become that doofus Rand Paul is said to represent 'realism.' )

What is 'conservative realism,' and can it push Rand Paul to White House?

Sen. Rand Paul, a presumed Republican candidate for president in 2016, spoke of 'conservative realism' in a speech this week. It is one prong of his strategy to attract voters beyond the Republican base. ...
Poll after poll have shown that the problem that non-Whites have with the GOP is NOT that it has not reached out to them, but that a vast majority of non-Whites are against the GOP's core values, such a smaller government and cutting down on the endless mushrooming of government programs. That Rand thinks the rioters of Ferguson are going to vote for him in more than microscopic percentages shows how pathologically deluded and/or off-the-charts opportunistic he really is.
