Mexican Slaughterhouse Latest Chapter
Yes, as many say, much of the "drug war" in Mexico is related to drug consumers in the U.S., but that is even more reason for tougher border controls and internal immigration-law enforcement, something that U.S. and Mexican politicians have been resisting for decades. Mexico has now become a slaughterhouse, and yet most Congressional Democrats, including Obama, judging by his voting record when there, and a sizable minority of Republicans, including Bush, always salivate with eagerness at the prospect of ever-more open borders with Mexico. What can average Americans do when it becomes fashionable for American elites, including academia, the press, the corporate world and, God knows, Hollywood to proudly demonstrate their pious lofty indifference to the health and safety, and even long-term survival, of their own people? --Relating to “Americans Killed in Mexico,” Sheridan, Washington Post, 3-15-10.
