Defense of Baseball Caps and Mustaches

Most of today's fashion pointers seem reasonable, but sometimes it is forgotten that function can be at least as important as fashion. This is true with baseball caps. If you reside and are often outside in a place that can have blasting summers and stormy winters, you need a hat, and one with a brim. That limits you. Do you pretend to be a cowboy? Or how about a fedora? Besides, a hat with a brim all the way around can be a real hassle if it is windy, unless you use a chinstrap. No thanks. A lot of these style do’s and don’t’s are common sense, but some are the result of urban young people with too much time on their hands, who think that everything is about style. It reminds one of the fact that mustaches have been declared horribly out of style for years. Yet when walking down the street in many towns you see that about every third guy is wearing one. But they are all embarrassingly out of style? Okaaay. But here's the kicker. If you have a mustache with a little triangle of hair under your lower lip (plead guilty), it is just fine--because then what you have above your upper lip is apparently no longer a mustache! Oh brother ...
