Texas, which has taken in more refugees than any state in the nation over the past year, is threatening to leave the federal refugee program if the Obama administration does not meet its security demands.
The dispute comes as the Obama administration has announced a new goal of resettling 110,000 refugees in the United States in the coming year, including an unspecified increase in the number from Syria.

Despite objections raised by Gov. Greg Abbott and other state officials, Texas took in 7,205 refugees over the past 12 months, more than any other state. White House officials attribute the state's record to strong support from churches and other faith-based and religious organizations.
Despite the Chronicle's dishonest ending spin in the above paragraph, these 'refugees' are not delivered into the hands of nice little church groups, but to private contractors that are rolling in taxpayer dollars because they are paid per-head to bring (almost all) Muslims into the US and dump them on local taxpayers, to be subsidized in housing, food stamps, schools, emergency rooms, other health needs and the many translators, required by law.
It starts with a half-dozen families--You wouldn't be so cruel as to turn them away, would you?!--and then increases into a river as more family members, along with various other individuals, are endlessly chained-in.
Meanwhile, the CEOs of these contracting agencies are making six-figure incomes, and along with a few bureaucrats, decide if your hometown is next to be third-world-ized. The icing on the cake? The Democrat and GOP parties are equally to blame (Bush, Ryan, etc).
The cherry on the icing on the cake? America doesn't even choose these people--the UN does. A UN official can look at an over-the-horizon angry shantytown of Muslims and decide that they will make excellent Americans.
Meanwhile Andy Taylor, Aunt Bea and Opie are innocently eating apple pie in their kitchen not knowing that their own government has slated them for demographic and violent-crime removal.
