'Knockout game' as hate crime? Second Brooklyn man charged
With coverage of 'knockout game' attacks growing, so is prosecution of the attacks under federal and local hate-crime laws. Friday's arrest is the second in Jewish Brooklyn in six weeks.
For the second time in six weeks, New York City police have arrested a man in Brooklyn and charged him with assault as a hate crime in connection with the "knockout game."
The arrest comes as a spate of attacks have focused national attention on the knockout game, in which an assailant tries to knock out an unsuspecting bystander with one punch. The attacks have stirred controversy over whether the game is part of a growing trend or whether national media coverage and social media have inflated isolated incidents.
Moreover, the Obama administration raised eyebrows when the US Justice Department on Dec. 26 charged a white man in Texas with a federal hate crime for attacking a black man as part of a knockout game, though the vast majority of recorded knockout assaults have been by black men against whites. . . .
(1) Hate crime laws are by nature anti-white, since it is almost impossible to commit a hate crime against a heterosexual gentile white;
(2) Even "the vast majority of recorded assaults have been by black men against whites" is a vast understatement. I've read of many dozens of cases and this recent one, the only one that Holder is prosecuting as a hate crime, is the only white-on-black knockout attack I have heard of. Even if you multiply that by 500 percent, it would equal 5;
(3) It is very telling that some of the people trying to minimize this epidemic are saying that all this is--yawn, yawn--nothing new, and has been happening for decades. So their rebuttal is that black guys have been using white people, many elderly, including women, as well as schoolgirls, as punching bags for years and years, and it is only now being reported? Oh, I see, okay, that's different--No problem!
(4) Something else that was inadvertently revealing occurred on one of the few mainstream media reports on this horror--one of those reports that always calls the victims 'random,' rather than targeted whites--that interviewed people on the streets near where these attacks had occurred. I was struck by the giggling black teenage girls who talked about this 'Knockout Game' as if it were the same as TP'ing a friend's house or seeing how many kids you can fit into a VW bug, or one of the other past teenage white kid pranks. You could tell the fact that the victims could and do get badly injured and killed, both from the powerful blow to the head by a fist, and by shattering their heads like a ripe melon on the sidewalk or curb, did not in the least enter into their thinking. Or if it did, they did not in the least care.
