Is Hagel out of the Mainstream?
Taki Magazine, January 11, 2013
“Chuck Hagel is out of the mainstream of thinking ... on most issues regarding foreign policy,” says GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham. Neocon William Kristol concurs: Hagel is “out on the fringes.”
But where, exactly, is the mainstream on foreign policy in 2013?
Since the Bush II years, “the three amigos”—Sens. Graham, John McCain and Joe Lieberman—have clamored for new wars. ...
I don't think the American people wanted to go to war in Iraq, at first. This is one of the major problems with these nutty televised presidential wars. Once, through orchestration, they start building up a head of stream, officialdom takes advantage of the natural up-welling of citizen patriotism and what is left of our group identity to ''Support Our Troops!'--and it all takes off like a rocket, before the actual facts come crashing down around our ears and the body bags start piling up on mom's front porch.
Of course if we had real honorable leaders, they would first be defending their own borders. That would be very, very popular, but only among average patriotic Americans, who of course are of no importance whatsoever to the giant mental midgets standing astride their increasingly bizarre utopian Orwellian multicultural multiracial multi-gendered bloated broke borderless warring teetering empire.
