The city of Rutland is at odds over the decision to take in 100 Syrian refugees this October.
"I hear fear being depicted and by the way this gentleman is talking, there's plenty of reasons to be afraid,” said Nick Santoro.
Santoro was part of a standing room only crown Tuesday night at the Rutland Free Library, to listen to James Simpson, an independent investigative journalist and former analyst for the White House office of management and budget. He was invited by members of the community that are against bringing Syrian refugees to the city.
"Syrian refugees cannot be vetted, they cannot be vetted, I don't care if you spend 24 hours or 24 years they can't be vetted, you have the counter-terrorism director of the FBI says it doesn't matter if you vet them until the cows come home,” said Simpson ...
