The Problem with Lee Child's Jack Reacher Series: a Short Review of 'The Affair.'

Yours truly's brief Amazon review of Lee Child's Jack Reacher novel, 'The Affair"

Sick to death of PC--even of the stealthier type

I have already read several of the Jack Reacher series. All have some very good and creative action scenes and crime-solving situations. One of the things I like is the relentless flat descriptions of everything everywhere Reacher goes, back alleys, hardware stores, farm fields, you name it. Alas, this edition, which I purchased on Kindle, I was unable to get through, and will probably be saying a fond farewell to Jack Reacher.

Lee Child sprinkles his Reacher books with just enough political correctness / anti-Westernkind ideology that I would imagine a Democrat or a middle-of-the-road Republican would hardly notice. Don't know the motivation, however this means the author can smuggle in small amounts of the worldview required by the Powers-That-Be in publishing, films, academia, corporations and the MSM, while still operating within a genre that probably leans more toward readers who really don't want more of this stuff relentlessly shoved down their throats.

Thank you for some entertaining times, Child and Reacher. Good luck to you both in the future.
