Sahronim Center: Israel Cruelly Tossing African Migrants into the Slammer?

Israeli: Detention center for Africans a 'prison'

JERUSALEM (AP) — Hundreds of African migrants are languishing in a desert detention center in southern Israel, where families may only meet once a week and where women and children sleep in a prison-like compound, according to lawmakers who caught a rare glimpse.
The visit to Sahronim center by a parliamentary delegation has allowed a look into the facility that plays a key role in Israel's attempt to stem the tide of thousands of African migrants who have crossed the long desert border with Egypt to the Jewish state in recent years.
"It's not a camp. It's a prison," said Michael Rozin, an opposition lawmaker with the dovish Meretz party. "You have guards. You are not free do what you want. These people are not criminals. Their crime is asking for a better life." . . .
Obviously, Israel should be able to have whatever type of nation and population it desires, but why is this not true for Western nations as well? Jewish communities within all Western nations for decades have worked tirelessly to have their host nations' borders thrown wide open in order to make these nations as 'multicultural' as possible, while in the Jewish homeland, Israel, the opposite rules have always applied.
The icing on the cake is the above appeal favoring the African migrants, saying, "Their crime is asking for a better life." Of course Western peoples have been propagandized for decades that an invasion cannot and must not be stopped if invaders are simply coming for a better life, which is probably the primary reason why invasions have taken place down through history anyway, but, once again, when Israel is the destination of this better life, such nutty utopian reasoning no longer applies.
